SKIN/MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion treatment at Kitral Aesthetics

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that gently exfoliates the outermost layer of dead skin cells using a diamond-tipped device or fine crystals. This process reveals fresher, smoother skin underneath and stimulates natural cell renewal.

The treatment is ideal for improving dull skin, uneven tone, fine lines, mild pigmentation, enlarged pores, and superficial acne scarring. It is suitable for most skin types and requires no downtime, making it a popular lunchtime treatment.

Key benefits include:

  • - Brighter Complexion: Removes dead skin cells to reveal fresher, more radiant skin.
  • - Smoother Texture: Helps refine rough skin and minimize the appearance of pores.
  • - Improved Skin Tone: Assists with mild pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
  • - Enhanced Product Absorption: Allows skincare products to penetrate more effectively.
  • - Non-Invasive & Painless: No needles, no chemicals, and no downtime.
  • - Instant Results: Skin looks smoother and refreshed immediately after treatment.

Microdermabrasion is an excellent maintenance treatment and can be combined with other skin therapies to enhance overall skin health and appearance.

Questions we're often asked

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It helps improve dull skin, uneven tone, fine lines, mild pigmentation, and enlarged pores.
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that gently exfoliates the outermost layer of dead skin cells to improve texture, tone, and overall skin appearance.
Microdermabrasion is generally safe and well tolerated, but like any cosmetic treatment, it can have side effects—especially if done too aggressively or on sensitive skin. Common and temporary side effects These usually resolve within a few hours to a couple of days: Redness or pinkness Mild swelling Skin tightness or dryness Sensitivity to touch Slight itching or tingling Less common side effects These are uncommon but can occur: Bruising, especially in people with fragile skin or broken capillaries (due to suction) Small pinpoint bleeding Temporary darkening or lightening of the skin (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation), more likely in darker skin tones if aftercare is poor Flare-ups of acne or rosacea Rare but possible risks Usually linked to improper technique or unsuitable candidates: Skin abrasions or scratches Infection (very rare, but possible if skin is broken) Broken capillaries (telangiectasia) Who should be cautious or avoid microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion may not be suitable if you have: Active acne, open wounds, or skin infections Rosacea or very sensitive skin Eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the treatment area Recently used isotretinoin (Accutane) (typically within the last 6–12 months) A history of keloid scarring
After a microdermabrasion treatment, you can expect brighter, smoother, and more refreshed-looking skin. Results are usually noticeable immediately, with improved skin texture and a more even tone. Fine lines may appear softer, pores can look smaller, and skincare products often absorb better. Mild redness or sensitivity may occur but typically fades within a few hours. Results are temporary, lasting one to two weeks, and improve with regular sessions every 2–4 weeks. Microdermabrasion works best for mild skin concerns and is not effective for deep wrinkles, severe acne, or deep scars.
The results of microdermabrasion are temporary, typically lasting one to two weeks after a single treatment. Immediately after the procedure, the skin looks brighter, smoother, and more refreshed because dead skin cells have been removed. As the skin naturally renews itself, these effects gradually fade. To maintain and enhance results, treatments are usually recommended every 2 to 4 weeks. With a series of regular sessions, improvements in skin texture, tone, and mild fine lines can last longer. Consistent skincare, hydration, and daily sunscreen use also help prolong the benefits of microdermabrasion.
